The Brand Within Chris.

Aside from my core values of curiosity, candour, kindness, integrity and congruence, I often refer to Personality Indicator Types to remind me of Who I am, right now.

I qualified in DISC Behavioural Profiling thirty years ago and have gone down other ‘rabbit-holes’ since then, but it never harms to keep up-to-date with what’s new.

This time it was Myers Briggs that caught my attention.

Turns out I’m INFP Personality. What they refer to as a Mediator.

Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Prospecting. Tell me more.

Apparently, a rare personality type who tend to be quiet, open-minded, and imaginative. We apply a caring and creative approach to everything we do.

Although we may seem quiet or unassuming, people with INFP personality type have vibrant, passionate inner lives. Creative and imaginative, we happily lose ourselves in daydreams, inventing all sorts of stories and conversations in our minds. We are known for our sensitivity – we can have profound emotional responses to music, art, nature and the people around them.

We are known to be extremely sentimental and nostalgic. We long for deep, soulful relationships and feel called to help others.

Due to the fast-paced and competitive nature of our society, we sometimes feel lonely or invisible, adrift in a world that doesn’t appreciate the traits that make us unique. Yet it is precisely because INFPs brim with such rich sensitivity and profound creativity that we possess the unique potential to connect deeply and initiate positive change.

INFP personalities share a sincere curiosity about the depths of human nature. Introspective to the core, we are exquisitely attuned to our own thoughts and feelings, but we yearn to understand the people around us as well. INFPs are compassionate and nonjudgemental, always willing to hear another person’s story. When someone opens up to us, we feel honoured to listen and be of help.

Few things make INFP personalities more uneasy than pretending to be someone they aren’t. With our sensitivity and commitment to authenticity, we tend to crave opportunities for creative self-expression.

In the workplace, we enjoy having freedom and latitude. Our creativity and insight enable us to shake up old ways of doing things – as long as we are given the chance to speak up and make changes.

Shaking up old ways is what I try to do in estate agency/real estate. It’s a sector where what worked in the past is seen as a benchmark for present and future.

Perhaps that’s why real estate has become such a transactional commodity, where competition is King.

Hopefully, #realtors #estateagents will come to their senses, go Beyond The Logo and to their Brand Within. That’s attractive.
